Mattituck 6, Center Moriches 1: Bryce Grathwohl struck out seven and allowed one hit, one walk and one run in a complete game as No. 1 Mattituck (17-6) defeated No. 2 Center Moriches in Game 2 of the Suffolk B finals to clinch the program's third county title in four years. "The boys worked hard for this," Mattituck coach Steve DeCaro said. "They gave up a lot to put themselves in a place to win a county championship." Grathwohl went 2-for-3 with an RBI double in the top of the third inning to give Mattituck a 3-1 lead. Jason Scalia had two runs scored, a stolen base and extended the Mattituck lead to 5-1 on an RBI single in the sixth. Matt Heffernan went 2-for-3 with two doubles, a walk and two RBIs. Mattituck will face Wheatley in the Long Island Championship at St. Joseph's June 1 at 6:30 p.m.
