West Islip 1, Ward Melville 0: Brandon Isolano scored the lone role in the top of the third inning on a squeeze executed by Greg Tsouprakos to lead No. 4 West Islip (18-6) past No. 1 Ward Melville in Game 1 of the Suffolk AA semifinals. Joe Valentino struck out eight and allowed four hits and two walks over 6 and 2/3 innings. Kyle O'Neill forced a ground-out to second base with two outs and a runner on second to earn the save. West Islip will host Game 2 tomorrow at 4 p.m.
