Massapequa 2, Oceanside 0: Michael Cottone's two-out, two-run single in the top of the fifth inning broke a scoreless tie to lift No. 3 Massapequa (18-5) over No. 2 Oceanside in Game 1 of a Nassau AA semifinal. Cottone went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a stolen base. Dan Gdanski struck out seven and allowed six hits and one walk in a complete-game shutout. Nick Fossari went 2-for-3 with a run scored. Massapequa hosts Game 2 tomorrow at 4:30 p.m.
