Mepham vs Garden City

Mepham 8, Garden City 1: Mike Proios struck out eight, allowed one run in 6 and 1/3 innings and hit a bases-clearing double to give Mepham a 4-0 lead to lift No. 12 Mepham (15-7-1) over No. 4 Garden City in the second game of a Nassau A quarterfinal series. Matt Conroy went 2-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning. Brian Porricelli and Mike Valentino also added one home run apiece. Garden City will host the final game of the series Saturday at noon.
