Smithtown East 6, Ward Melville 4: Andrew Canino's sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning gave No. 9 Smithtown East (14-7) a 5-4 lead in the second round of the Suffolk AA playoffs. Nick Harvey had two hits and three RBIs. Ward Melville scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 4-2 lead. Smithtown East responded with four runs in the seventh, tying the score at 4 on a balk. Tyler Schmid earned the save. Smithtown East will visit the winner of Sachem East/Ward Melville at 4 p.m. on Friday.
