Ward Melville 5, Brentwood 3: Michael Sepe had a two-run triple in the bottom of the fifth to break a 3-3 tie and cap a three-run inning for No. 1 Ward Meville in its Suffolk AA first round win over No. 16 Brentwood. Kyle Rafferty's single earlier in the inning drove in Logan Doran to tie the game at 3 for the Patriots (18-2). Max Nielsen pitched a complete game four-hitter, with seven strikeouts and two walks to earn the win. Ward Melville will host the winner of No. 9 Smithtown East/No. 8 Sachem East Wednesday at 4 p.m.
