Connetquot 6, Bay Shore 3: Winning pitcher Chris Ryan scattered five hits and struck out three over five innings for Connetquot (9-8) in Suffolk II. Reliever John O'Connell entered the game in the sixth inning with Connetquot up 4-3 with the bases loaded and two outs. He induced a line drive out off the bat of Hermes Abreu to end the threat. Sophomore Jared Yalon went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and sophomore Lucas Quinlan added two doubles including a two-run double in the bottom of the sixth for the final margin. The game also took on a historical significance. It was the 602nd win in the 33-year career of Connetquot head coach Bob Ambrosini, who has led the Thunderbirds to the playoffs 32 times. Ambrosini surpassed East Islip baseball and football coaching legend Sal Ciampi, who had 601 career wins on the diamond.
