Mineola 12, Locust Valley 9: Matt Destefano (3-for-3, two RBIs) had a two-out single in the bottom of the fifth to drive in Steve Clancy and break a tie at 9 in Mineola's Nassau A-V win. Justin Bestler (five RBIs) had a bases loaded single earlier in the inning to score Tony Macchietto and Timmy Donattin and tie the game at 9 for Mineola (8-6). Chris Wiercinski's two-out RBI single capped a five-run fifth inning for the Mustangs. Destefano also earned his first varsity win, pitching three innings of hitless relief with six strikeouts.
