Northport 9, Connetquot 1: Brian Herrmann tossed a five hitter with no earned runs, no walks and 12 strikeouts to lead No. 8 Northport (16-5) over No. 16 Connetquot in the second round of the Suffolk AA playoffs. Jake McCarthy went 1-for-3 with a run and three RBIs and Matt Lindley went 1-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs. DL Rodriguez went 1-for-3 with three RBIs and Frank Stola went 2-for-4 with a run scored. Northport plays the winner of No. 1 Bay Shore and Connetquot Friday at 4 p.m.
