North Shore 9, Valley Stream Central 3: Joe Martino hit an RBI single in the fifth inning to tie the game at 3 and Connor Hehn drove in two with a squeeze bunt in the seventh to break the tie and lead North Shore (1-0) in non-league. Brandon Jarkow scored from third on Hehn's bunt, and Nick Lucchesi, who was running on the pitch, scored from second. Winning pitcher Francis Dromm struck out nine, walked three and did not allow a hit in 3.1 innings of relief.
