Ward Melville 6, Smithtown West 5: Joe Flynn scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth on a passed ball to lead No. 2 Ward Melville (19-2) over No. 9 Smithtown West in a Suffolk AA quarterfinal. Dominick Lamonica and Jeff Towle each had two-run homers for Ward Melville. Ward Melville will play East Islip in a best-of-3 semifinal beginning Saturday at noon.
