Smithtown East 8, Half Hollow Hills West 6: Ryan Kuskowski scored on John Marti's RBI ground out in the bottom of the sixth to break a tie at 6 to lead No. 4 Smithtown East (19-2) over no. 5 Half Hllow Hills West in a Suffolk AA quarterfinal. Greg Maitles threw 6-2/3 of relief after after Smithtown East fell behind 6-0. Maitles allowed five hits, walked one and struck out two. Matt Milne went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs. Smithtown East will play the winner of Connetquot/Hills East in the semifinals beginning Saturday.
