Island Trees 11, Valley Stream North 8: John Gilmartin's two-RBI single in the second inning gave No. 6 Island Trees a 4-3 lead over No. 11 Valley Stream North in the first round of the Nassau Class A playoffs. Scott Nacovsky doubled to start fifth inning and scored on wild pitch to give Island Trees an 8-7 lead. Tucker Hann had a two-run home run in sixth to make it 11-8. Island Trees (15-5) plays at No. 3 North Shore Tuesday.
