Virga scored the game's first run on an errant throw in the infield in the bottom of the sixth inning. Mike Stiles' RBI sacrifice fly plated Dave Nodeland to cap the game's scoring in the sixth. Stiles pitched a three-hit shutout, striking out four and walking one for the victory.
