Carmody led off with a single and Matthews followed with a line drive down the right-field line. Hampton Bays had tied it at 2 in the top of the seventh. Starter Anthony Vano struck out seven in six scoreless innings for the Panthers (4-0). Brandon Beierly went 1-for-2 with a triple and Kenneth Gordon was 1-for-3 with an RBI.
