New Hyde Park 3, Bellmore JFK 1: Lou Plomitallo pitched six innings, allowing an unearned run on three hits, striking out one, walking none and two hit batsmen for his first varsity win in his first start for New Hyde Park (1-1) in its Conference A-I victory. Greg Haynes' two-out RBI double put the Gladiators on top 1-0 in the bottom of the first. Jesse Martinez's two-out RBI single made it 2-0 in the second. Mark Chambers' RBI double scored pinch runner Scott Kelnhofer in the fifth for the game's final margin.
