Commack 7, Ward Melville 0: Vincent Negri pitched six shutout innings, allowing two hits, striking out two and walking one in No. 9 Commack's (14-8) consolation bracket semifinal win over No. 3 Ward Melville. Kyle Lamantia was 3-for-4 with a homer, two singles, five RBIs and two runs. Lamantia's two-run homer scored Jesse Berardi to give the Cougars a 2-0 lead in the top of the first. Game play resumed Saturday with one out in the top of the seventh after rain postponed Friday's originally scheduled semifinal with the Cougars leading 6-0. Chase Galleto's fielder's choice scored Lamantia in the seventh for the game's final margin. Berardi was 2-for-3 with a double, a single, two runs, two stolen bases and a walk. The Cougars will play at No. 2 Half Hollow Hills West in the consolation bracket final at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
