Oceanside 2, Plainview JFK 1: Tom Pallatto's two-out RBI base hit scored Nick Vlahakis to give No. 10 Oceanside (14-9-1) a walk-off win over No. 5 Plainview JFK in Game 2 of the Nassau Class AA semifinals. Vlahakis, who was 2-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI and a run, led off the bottom of the eighth with a double. Vlahakis' first double went for an RBI, scoring Brandy Diaz, to tie the score at one in the third. Dom Palumbo scored the game's first run on an infield throwing error to put the Hawks up 1-0 in the third. Pat Broder pitched 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief, allowing one hit, striking out four and walking two for the victory. Oceanside will take on No. 6 Massapequa in Game 1 of the best-of-three finals at 4 p.m. May 28 at Farmingdale State.
