Mepham vs Oceanside

Oceanside 2, Mepham 1: Brandy Diaz scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning from first base on a throwing error after Nick Vlahakis laid down a bunt as No. 10 Oceanside beat No. 1 Mepham and won the Class AA quarterfinal three-game series. Diaz was 1-for-3 with a double and two runs. Chris Hood struck out four in a complete game for Oceanside (12-9-1), which will play in a semifinal next week (opponent to be determined).
