Bridgehampton/Ross 11, Eldred 1: Kai Alversa went 4-for-4 with a double, a triple, three RBIs and three runs scored and struck out 10 batters, allowing just one hit, one walk and one unearned run over five innings pitched to lead Bridgehampton/Ross (6-10) in the Class D state regional final at Lorenz Field in Saugerties. Alversa's RBI single capped a seven-run fourth inning to give Bridgehampton a 10-0 lead. Tyler Fitzgerald's two-run single started the rally. Alversa's brother, Finn, added an RBI double and Elliott McGonegal had an RBI groundout. Chase Chmielewski added a two-run single. Tate Foard had an RBI groundout in the first inning. Fitzgerald had three RBIs and Eli McCleland went 1-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored. Bridgehampton will face Duanesburg of Section II in the state semifinals at 1 p.m. on Friday at Union-Endicott High School.
