North Shore 6, Island Trees 5: Jojo Basile hit a go-ahead RBI double in the top of the fifth to lead No. 5 North Shore over No. 4 Island Trees in the deciding Game 3 of a Nassau Class A quarterfinal series. Jonathan Versocki hit a tying RBI double earlier in the inning. Basile went 3-for-3 and Versocki drove in four runs. Aurelio Cagno allowed two hits in three scoreless innings of relief for the save. Liam Ricco ran down a long flyout for the game's final out, stranding the tying run on third. Ricco also made a diving catch in right field earlier in the game. North Shore (13-10) will visit top-seeded Plainedge in the first of a three-game semifinal series at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Island Trees finished 12-11.
