HIGHLIGHTS
St. Anthony's 6, Kellenberg 3: CJ Alfano went 2-for-3 with a triple, a home run, four RBIs and two runs scored to lead St. Anthony's to a 6-3 win over visiting Kellenberg in Nassau-Suffolk CHSAA action in South Huntington on Thursday afternoon. Alfano hit an RBI triple in the bottom of the third inning to start the scoring, and then hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the fourth to give St. Anthony's (3-0) a 6-0 lead. Alfano finished the season-opening series with six hits in nine at-bats. In the top of the seventh inning, with the tying run at the plate, Tyler Mazurkiewicz came in and struck out the final two batters looking to seal the win and earn the save. Jacob Vaccariello earned the win, striking out five batters over four innings pitched. Jaden Valdez went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs for Kellenberg (0-3).
