Shoreham-Wading River 3, Mt. Sinai 0: On his first Varsity start, freshman Brian Morrell pitched a complete game no-hitter, walked one and struck out nine to lead Shoreham-Wading River (3-0) over Mt. Sinai (0-3) in League VII. Morrell only threw 80 pitches. "It's a great accomplishment," said coach Sal Mignano. This was the first time a freshman has pitched a no-hitter in Shoreham-Wading River's history. Morrell is a second-year Varsity player, who played last year as an eighth-grader. "He was in control of all of his pitches," Mignano said. "He pitched an outstanding game."
