Seaford vs Plainedge

Seaford 6, Plainedge 2: Matt Kind hit a grand slam in the top of the seventh inning to give A-II No. 3 Seaford a five-run cushion and ultimately the winning runs to beat A-II No. 1 Plainedge in a winner-take-all Game 3 of the Nassau Class A semifinals. Dylan Alt struck out four and allowed three hits and no earned runs in 4 2/3 innings to earn the win. He also went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored. Jordan Cassuto struck out two and allowed one hit in a 2 1/3-inning save. He went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored. Seaford (18-8) will meet A-I No. 1 Wantagh in Game 1 of a best-of-three championship series at Farmingdale State at 4 p.m. Thursday. Taylor Nitsch hit a home run for Plainedge, which finished 22-3.
