Seaford vs Mineola

Seaford 4, Mineola 1: Tom Apollo threw a complete game, allowing four hits, three walks and one earned run on eight strikeouts to lead No. 2 Seaford to a Game 1 win over No. 3 Mineola in the first round of the Nassau Class A playoffs. Apollo had a two-run triple with two outs in the bottom of the second to give Seaford a two-run lead. Jason Berthel's RBI single in the bottom of the fifth added another run. Berthel went 2-for-3 with an RBI, a run and two stolen bases. Seaford (15-6) heads to Mineola (7-12-2) Tuesday, May 14, for Game 2 at 4:45 p.m.
