HIGHLIGHTS
Commack 21, Patchogue-Medford 3: Matt Mayer had a two-run homer and a two-run triple and Chris McHugh had two doubles and two RBIs as top-seeded Commack (23-2) beat No. 4 Patchogue-Medford (18-8) to complete a two-game sweep in the Suffolk Class AA championship series. Commack repeated as the AA winner and took its third consecutive county title overall. It will face the winner of the Nassau championship series between Massapequa and Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK for the Long Island AA title and a berth in the state AA final four at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's University in Patchogue.
