HIGHLIGHTS
For the third time in 21 years- also 2002 and 2012 - Calhoun reached a state semifinal but did not advance to the championship. Hamburg righthander Nolan Smith pitched a complete game five hitter to stifle the Colts (26-4). Calhoun trailed 6-1 going into the seventh, scored twice and brought the tying run to the plate twice, but Smith finished his effort by recording his second and third strikeout of the game. Brian Chin, Charlie Imhof and Alec Edwards all had RBI for Calhoun. Nolan Heavern had three RBI for Hamburg (18-5), which will face Averill Park Saturday for the NYSPHSAA Class A title.
