Dan Bondi pitched a five-hit shutout as top-seeded Calhoun (20-1) won a Nassau A quarterfinal and advanced to a semifinal series. Alec Edwards' one-out solo homer was big hit as the Colts pushed both their runs across in the third inning. Joey Goodman later had a two-out triple and scored on Matt Kalfas's single. Bondi struck out seven for Calhoun. Tyler Kregeloh ended up the hard luck loser after pitching a sterling six innings with six strikeouts. Plainadge (14-9) left eight men on base.
