Manhasset 8, North Shore 7: Cole Zaffiro walked with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning to score Jack Grygiel and lead No. 10 Manhasset (14-8) over No. 7 North Shore in the Nassau Class A pool play elimination game. Colin Hanlon's RBI single to score Patrick Jarvis knotted the score at 7 in the bottom of the seventh inning. Jay Schlaefer hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to cut the Manhasset deficit to 7-6. Joe LoCurto hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the third inning for Manhasset. Andrew Moy earned the win, pitching five innings of relief, allowing one earned run, striking out one. Manhasset faces No. 2 Clarke in the quarterfinals at Clarke High School on Monday, May 20 at 4:30 p.m.
