Mineola 3, Carle Place 0: <CF1>Vito Santoli, Dan Mengler, Ryan Sellinger and Tony Tony Macchiettio combined to bowl a 1,001 in the first game of a 1,001-685, 912-689, 788-643 Nassau II boys bowling win against Carle Place, yesterday. Santoli had a 210, Mengler led the way with a 279 (and a 735 series), and Mengler and <CF1>Macchiettio</CF> both had a 256 in the opening game for the Mustangs who finished 12-0 in Nassau II and have won 23 straight matches according to coach Helms Bohringer. “I was pretty impressed when I saw that number (1,001),†Bohringer said. “I hope we can continue to bowl this well come Feb. 4 (date of the Nassau championships).â€
