Interiano scored in overtime to give Brentwood, which is ranked No. 4 in the nation by the NSCAA, a 3-2 win over Ward Melville in the Suffolk Class AA quarterfinals last season. Interiano scored the lone goal in the state semifinals and scored in the state finals two years ago. "He's so big and strong," Brentwood coach Ron Eden said. “He was banged up and sick last year. He's a completely different player this year." Brentwood goalkeeper Raul Bonilla doesn’t get tested much behind the strong defense of Jeffrey Medina, Jelvin Parra, Daniel Aguilar and Mario Ruiz. But Bonilla came through with one of his four saves 10 minutes into the second half off a blast from 35 yards. Bonilla has 19 shutouts in two seasons, including six shutouts this season. “The hardest thing for a goalkeeper is to make the big save when you're not in the game,” Eden said. “When he gets called on to make the one or two big saves, he rises to the occasion.” Jack Bruckner kept Ward Melville (5-1-2, 4-1-1) close with nine saves. Brentwood (8-0, 5-0) caps a stretch of four games in seven days against quality opponents tomorrow with Commack. “It’s a tough stretch,” Eden said. “We are trying to build towards the playoffs.
