In the fifth set, Carle Place trailed 24-22, but took a 25-24 lead on the serving of Sarah Laga, and closed the match with Nicole Grande serving.

Becky Italiano chipped in with four aces, four kills and four digs. East Rockaway (11-5) faces Mattituck in the Long Island Championship at noon on Saturday at St. Joseph's College in Patchogue.
