Pitre opened the scoring with a one-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, capping an 85-yard drive on which he accumulated 78 rushing yards. Leading 6-3 with eight minutes left in the fourth quarter, Herricks quarterback Adrian Kwan scrambled out of the pocket and hit Chris Rivera in the end zone from 16-yards out on a broken play to put Herricks ahead 12-6. Mark Holuka later blocked a Calhoun field goal attempt with four minutes left in the fourth quarter that gave Herricks the ball back with a chance to kill time.
