    Highlights: Island Trees 8, South Side 6: Tucker Hahn went 3-for-3 with a double, an RBI and three runs and Andrew Kramer went 2-for-3 with two runs to lead No. 15 Island Trees (16-8) over No. 2 South Side in game 3 of the Nassau Class A quarterfinals. Hahn scored on a fielder's choice hit Jimmy Carabott in the top of the sixth to make it 8-3. Louis Mele had three RBIs on the day. Island Trees advances to the semifinals for the seventh straight year according to coach Joe D'Auria. The best-of-three semifinals will begin on Monday at the higher seed at 4:30 p.m.

    Highlights: Island Trees 8, South Side 7: Lou Belleau hit a walkoff single that scored Andrew Barbine from second base with two outs in the ninth to lead No. 15 Island Trees over No. 2 South Side to tie the Class A quarterfinal series at two game apiece. South Side tied the score at 7 after trailing by two runs in the seventh. The final game of the series will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at South Side. Louis Mele went 4-for-5 with two runs scored and one RBI, and John Minikel picked up the win after he pitched two perfect innings of relief.

Louis Belleau pitched a complete game shutout, allowing three hits and striking out four. Island Trees moves on to the quarterfinals and begins a best-of-three series with No. 2 South Side on May 15.

North Shore in the second round of the Class A playoffs. Martelli tossed a complete game, allowing three hits and no earned runs with nine strikeouts. Valley Stream North advances to play in the quarterfinals at 4:30 on Wednesday.

    Highlights: Island Trees 5, Floral Park 4: Rocco Privitera one-out fielder's choice drove in Louis Mele from third for the go-ahead run in the top of the eighth to lead No. 15 Island Trees (13-7) over No. 10 Floral Park in the Class A single-elimination play-in. Tucker Hahn's bases loaded walk on a 3-2 pitch drove in the tying run for the Bulldogs. Island Trees trailed 4-0 after the first inning, but clawed back in the fourth, capped by Mele's RBI double to draw the Bulldogs to within 4-3. Aaron Rosenthal allowed no earned runs, with six hits, three walks, and nine strikeouts over eight innings.

After North Shore scored in the top of the 12th, Michael Tancredi hit a sac-fly to score James Rosentel and tie the game. Chris Stein pitched eight innings of no-hit ball with three walks and 10 strikeouts in the no-decision. Jonathan Chao pitched the final five innings with an unearned run on two hits and three strikeouts to earn the win. With the win, Bethpage earned a bye into the quarterfinals.

Jimmy Devita scored on an error to tie the score at 9 in the seventh. Island Trees trailed 9-1 going into the bottom of sixth and scored six runs, led by Louis Mele's two-run home run and Tucker Hahn's three-run shot.
