Highlights: No. 5 Carey 5, No. 12 Port Washington 0: Sophomore Jenna Turato pitched a complete game one-hitter with one walk and 13 strikeouts to lead No. 5 Carey (10-8) over No. 12 Port Washington in the first round of the Nassau Class AA Playoffs. Alyssa Jacobs went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run. Carey will face No. 4 Massapequa in the quarterfinals on Saturday at Massapequa at noon.

Highlights: Valley Stream Central 8, Great Neck South 7: Tiffany Longarzo's two-run single in the bottom of the sixth inning put Valley Stream Central (8-4) up 8-6 en route to its one-run victory in Conference AA-III. Longarzo also tossed a six-hitter, allowing four earned runs, while striking out six and walking three. Ashley Garcia went 2-for-4, with four RBIs and two runs.
