Highlights: East Meadow 8, MacArthur 2: Claire Travis went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer in the third and three RBIs to lead No. 1 East Meadow (15-7) over No. 2 MacArthur in game 1 of the Nassau Class AA finals. Game 2 will be played on Tuesday at Mitchel Field at 4 p.m.

Highlights: MacArthur 2, Mepham 1: Nicolette Moustouka's fielder's choice scored Jena Cozza in the third inning to give No. 2 MacArthur (14-8) a 2-1 lead over No. 3 Mepham in the Nassau Class AA semifinals. Catcher Kristin Daly threw out a runner at third in the sixth and a runner at second in the seventh inning as the Generals held on to win. Ashley Massoni allowed six hits and struck out three in a complete game for the win. MacArthur will face East Meadow at 4 p.m. Monday in Game 1 of the finals at Mitchel Athletic Complex.

Highlights: MacArthur 5, Mepham 4: Katie Fitzsimmons delivered a two-out RBI double to score Jena Cozza with the winning run in the top of the ninth for No. 2 MacArthur (13-8) in its Nassau Class AA semifinal victory over No. 3 Mepham. Ashley Massoni's two-run single in the top of the sixth inning capped a four-run frame to tie the score. MacArthur hosts Mepham in Game 3 of the semis at 4:30 p.m. May 17.

Highlights: East Meadow 5, Massapequa 3: Dina LaRosa went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and Kerri Shapiro had two hits and an RBI to lead No. 1 East Meadow (14-7) over No. 4 Massapequa in game two of a AA semifinals. East Meadow wins the series 2-0 and will play the winner of Mepham/MacArthur.

Highlights: East Meadow 4, Massapequa 0: Kerri Shapiro pitched a two-hit shutout and struck out five in a game one victory over (4) Massapequa in the Class AA semfinals. Shapiro went 2-for-3 with a double and a triple. Danielle Cutuli's triple drove in Taylor Conti and Marisa SanAntonio in the sixth inning, breaking a scoreless tie. (1) East Meadow (13-7) takes a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series. Game two is scheduled for Wednesday at Massapequa at 4:30pm.

Highlights: Mepham 2, MacArthur 1: Mary Galgano's sacrifice fly plated Katie Grodski to give Mepham (14-4) a 2-1 lead in the top of the sixth inning en route to a Nassau Class AA semifinals victory over No. 2 MacArthur (12-9). Galgano also hit a sacrifice fly to score Grodski in the top of the fourth to tie it at one. Tonimarie Valeriano pitched a four-hitter, without allowing any earned runs, while striking out 10 and walking none. The Generals' Jena Cozza stole home for the game's first run in the bottom of the third.

Highlights: Mepham 8, Oceanside 0: Alexi Ferrero went 2-for-3 with a grand slam and five RBIs, and Tonimarie Valeriano pitched a four-hit shutout with 15 strikeouts and no walks allowed to lead No. 3 Mepham over No. 6 Oceanside in a Class AA quarterfinals game. Mepham (13-4) advanced to play either No. 2 MacArthur or No. 10 Hicksville on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

Kristen Arbiter went 3-for-4 with two runs. MacArthur will face No. 3 Mepham in the semifinals on Tuesday at MacArthur at 4:30 p.m.

Massapequa will play the winner of No. 1 East Meadow/No. 9 Syosset in a best-of-three semifinal series, beginning Tuesday.

Highlights: East Meadow 8, Syosset 0: Kerri Shapiro went 3-for-3, with a solo homer, two doubles, three RBIs and two runs for No. 1 East Meadow (12-7) in a Nassau Class AA quarterfinal win over No. 9 Syosset (15-6). Shapiro pitched a one-hit shutout, striking out 18 and walking three. Marisa SanAntonio went 1-for-1, with a single, two walks and three runs. Liz Jacobsohn went 1-for-2, with a bunt single in the top of the sixth, and added a walk for the Braves.

Highlights: Oceanside 2, Calhoun 1: Ellen Derr helped her own cause with a one-out walk-off single with the bases loaded to lift No. 6 Oceanside (8-11) over No. 11 Calhoun (7-9) in the first round of the Nassau Class AA playoffs. Derr allowed one run off two hits in seven innings pitched, and plated Kristen Gallub with her winning hit in the seventh. Oceanside will play at No. 3 Mepham, Saturday at 10 a.m in a second round game.

Highlights: Hicksville 5, Long Beach 4: No. 10 Hicksville (13-5) came from behind to beat No. 7 Long Beach (5-13) in the first round of the Nassau Class AA playoffs when Alex Gaudelli stole home on a passed ball in the top of the seventh. Gaudelli went 3-4 on the day with a triple and two runs scored. Hicksville trailed 4-1 in the third, but Danielle Anzalone then retired 11 batters in a row, including a three-pitch fifth inning, as the Comets chipped away and eventually took the lead. Hicksville will play at No. 2 MacArthur, Saturday at 10 a.m. in a second round game.
