Highlights: Hempstead 85, Syosset 59: Tidell Pierre scored a career-high 49 points in the win. The mark is the second highest point total in Hempstead history, eclipsed only by Alden Scott's 51 point performance in 2007, according to coach Ted Adams.
The senior guard/foward scored 19 of his 49 in the fourth quarter.
"He was agressive around the basket," Adams said.
The three-year starter scored the games first eight points, according to Adams.
"That was the indicator that he was going to have one of those games," he said.
Adams also grabbed 12 rebounds.
"He's strong on the board, a good ball handler, and a good mid range shooter. He's the total package," Adams said.
Tywan Watson added 17 points and eight assists for Hempstead (5-7) in Conference AA-I.
