Highlights: Plainedge 5, Bethpage 4: Tom Read tossed an eight-hitter, allowing three earned runs, while striking out five and walking one to lead No. 13 Plainedge (16-8) in its Nassau Class A quarterfinal win over No. 5 Bethpage (14-9). Michael Dotzler went 2-for-4, with a two-run double in the top of the first inning and a two-run single in the top of the third. four RBIs. The Red Devils are at No. 9 Seaford (16-7) in the semis at 4:30 p.m. on May 20.

Highlights: Plainedge 7, Bethpage 0: Anthony Pensato pitched six shutout innings with one hit allowed and six strikeouts to lead No. 13 Plainedge (15-7) over No. 4 Bethpage in game 2 of the Nassau Class A quarterfinals. Dan Stock went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs and two RBIs. The series is now even at 1-1, and game 3 will be played on Saturday at Bethpage at noon.

Highlights: Bethpage 1, Plainedge 0: Chuck Hoffman scored the winning run on an RBI ground out by James Rosentel in the sixth inning and Ambie Veras allowed five hits and three walks and had five strikeouts in the complete game shutout to lead No. 4 Bethpage (14-7) over No. 13 Plainedge in game one of the Nassau A quarterfinals. Game two is Friday at 4:30pm at Plainedge.

Highlights: Plainedge 4, Hewlett 0: Anthony Pensato threw a three-hitter, struck out six and walked none in a Class A first round win over (12) Hewlett. Ray Flynn led off the fourth inning with a home run to give (13) Plainedge a 2-0 lead. Plainedge's (13-7) next round game is scheduled for Monday afternoon.

Highlights: No. 4 Bethpage 2, No. 5 North Shore 1 (F/13): Greg Walsh scored on a throwing error with no outs in the bottom of the 13th to give No. 4 Bethpage (13-7) over No. 5 North Shore in the first round of the Nassau Class A Playoffs. After North Shore scored in the top of the 12th, Michael Tancredi hit a sac-fly to score James Rosentel and tie the game. Chris Stein pitched eight innings of no-hit ball with three walks and 10 strikeouts in the no-decision. Jonathan Chao pitched the final five innings with an unearned run on two hits and three strikeouts to earn the win. With the win, Bethpage earned a bye into the quarterfinals.

Highlights: Bethpage 4, Glen Cove 3: Nick Marino scored the winning run on a run-down play in the sixth inning. Ambie Beras allowed one run on four hits over seven innings, struck out three, and walked one for Bethpage (11-6) in Conference A-III.

Highlights: Bethpage 6, Glen Cove 5: Francisco Almanzar hit a go-ahead, solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to propel Bethpage (10-6) in Conference A-III. Jonathan Chaw tossed a scoreless eighth inning to earn the save. Kevin DeCostro went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Glen Cove's Anthony Martino had an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh to tie the score at 5.
