Highlights: Island Trees 2, Wantagh 0: Mike Iacobellis led off the top of the seventh with a double and later came around on a successful suicide squeeze laid down by Anthony Raucci to break a scoreless tie and Louis Mele added an insurance run with a solo homer to lead No. 15 Island Trees (14-7) over No. 1 Wantagh (19-2) in a single elimination playoff game in Class A. Louis Belleau pitched a complete game shutout, allowing three hits and striking out four. Island Trees moves on to the quarterfinals and begins a best-of-three series with No. 2 South Side on May 15.

Highlights: No. 9 Seaford 3, No. 16 New Hyde Park 2: Down 2-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Jake Williams capped a three-run rally with a two-out two-run single to drive in Tom Galante and Danny Colantonio and No. 9 Seaford (12-7-1) would hold on for the win over No. 16 New Hyde Park (9-10-1) in the first round of the Nassau Class A Playoffs. Lucas Hall pitched a complete game with two earned runs on seven hits, two walks and five strikeouts.

Junior Shaun Klotsche pitched three scoreless innings in relief for his first career varsity win. Smith went 4-for-4 with three RBIs.
