Lawrence 45, Glen Cove 26: Running back Jordan Fredericks rushed for 245 yards and three touchdowns on 11 carries to lead No. 2 Lawrence (9-1) over No. 5 Glen Cove (6-4) in the Nassau III semifinals. Quarterback Joe Capobianco stood out as a star in the game, going 11 for 18 on passing for 219 yards and four touchdowns. After leading 19-12 at halftime, Lawrence got the ball to start the third quarter and scored on four plays in 1:56, as Capobianco hit Simon Jones on a wheel route for a 34-yard TD to make it 25-12 with 10:04 left in the third. "I've been blessed with great receivers," Capobianco said. "Our offense is reads on reads on reads, and coach sees what the defense is giving us and he calls the perfect plays to put us in a position to score." The Golden Tornadoes will play in the Nassau III final against either No. 1 Plainedge or No. 6 Floral Park at Hofstra University on Saturday at 12:30PM.
