Carle Place 3, East Rockaway 2: Patricia Acipreste had 18 digs and 23 assists, Courtney Mulcare had 10 kills and 20 digs, Laura Murphy had 15 kills and Shannon Weilert had five aces and seven kills to lead No. 2 Carle Place (14-2) over No. 1 East Rockaway, 25-23, 25-20, 21-25, 23-25, 25-23, to win the Nassau County Class C championship. Carle Place led 22-16 in the deciding game five before East Rockaway answered with seven straight points to take a 23-22 lead. After regaining control Weilert served two straight points and Acipreste finished the match with a kill. Carle Place moves on to play Mattituck in the Long Island Championship at 3pm on Sunday at St. Joseph's College.
