Sayville 1, Miller Place 0: Cory Santangelo scored the winner unassisted with 5:20 left to lead No. 1 Sayville over No. 4 Miller Place in a Suffolk Class A semifinal. Sayville (16-1-1) will play No. 3 Glenn in the final at 4 p.m. Thursday at Dowling College. Sayville's defense was led by defenders Kyle Steck, Michael Farese and Justin Siracusa, and goalkeeper Alex Spaun, who made six saves and recorded his 11th shutout. "Spencer Andrews won every ball and he was key in getting the ball to Cory Santangelo," coach Val Winter said. "And Cory was on our state championship team in 2010 so now it's his time to shine."
