HIGHLIGHTS
East Islip 30, Whitman 7: Matt Walter did it all for East Islip in the Suffolk II opener for both teams. His fumble recovery on the Whitman 5 yard line early in third quarter sparked East Islip to a 21-0 run. Walter scored on the next play with a 5 yard run up the middle. In addition to his 100 rushing yards and two touchdowns, he kicked a 26 yard field goal and went 3-for-4 on PATs. Walter also contributed with two sacks on the defensive side, and his six tackles tied Bob Heyward for the team-high. Patrick Valoy caught a pass off a play action from Jack Hannigan for 6 yards to give East Islip a 10-7 lead right before halftime.
