Valley Stream North 30, Carle Place 16: Chris Case scored on a 6-yard-run to cap a 14-play opening drive to lead Valley Stream North (3-1) in Conference IV. Brian Carroll's 10-yard run with 9:05 left in the third quarter gave Valley Stream North a 12-8 lead, as the Spartans rattled off 24 straight points - a span that included fullback Brandon Brana's 48-yard, fourth quarter scamper, a run where he broke three tackles and cruised home thanks to downfield blocking by receiver Vincent Boccia. Middle linebacker Mike DiRico had nine tackles and a sack to lead an defense that kept Carle Place off the board for the first half. Case had a sack, blocked a punt and added six tackles, while outside linebacker Isaiah Walsh had a sack to go with his team-high 72 rushing yards on five carries.
