Wheatley 7, Locust Valley 6: Tommy Gillette drove in the tying run on a fielders choice and the go-ahead run scored on an error on the same play to put Wheatley ahead 7-6 in the bottom of the sixth, Billy McLean hit a grand slam in the bottom of the fourth that put Wheatley in front 5-2 and Mike Carney got the last six outs of the game in his first varsity appearance to lead No. 3 Wheatley (16-8) over No. 1 Locust Valley to win the Nassau Class B championship series 2-0. Wheatley moves on to the Long Island championship on Monday, June 3.
