Riverhead 2, East Islip 0: Senior Matt Crohan tossed his first career no-hitter, with three walks and a career-high 15 strikeouts for Riverhead (1-0) in League IV. Crohan walked three in the second inning and was perfect for the remainder. "His fastball and his curveball were working," coach Rob Maccone said. "The second inning got us a little nervous but he settled down and dominated the rest of the game." Cody Smith went 2-for-3 and scored a run on a fielder's choice in a two-run sixth inning for the Blue Waves. Riverhead's first run scored on an error. East Islip's Ken Rotunno threw a two-hitter with nine strikeouts in the one hour, ten minute game.
