HIGHLIGHTS
East Islip 6, Hauppauge 3: Freshman second baseman Heather Zenk's bases-clearing single to rightfield in the top of the seventh was the final margin for East Islip (1-0) in its 6-3 League IV road opener win. Hauppauge (0-1) led 3-0 following Lyndsay Smocer's RBI double and eventual run on a passed ball in the bottom of the fourth. Alexa Martone's RBI triple in the top of the fifth tied it at three. Eighth-grader Courtney Greene made her first start, allowing four hits with nine strikeouts and four walks in her complete game victory.
