Mattituck vs Stony Brook School

Monday April 29, 2013 at Stony Brook School

Overall 6 - 13 | Conference 6 - 10

Overall 1 - 13 | Conference 0 - 13

HIGHLIGHTS

Mattituck 22, Stony Brook 0 (5 innings): Senior Sara Perkins pitched a no-hitter, striking out seven and walking none. Perkins also hit a home run in the third inning, giving Mattituck a 4-0 lead. "Her changeup was working and everything else was going well for her. When she hit the home run, it was magical for us," coach Kelly Pickering said. The game marked not only her first career no hitter, but her first career home run as well. Perkins did not play last year due to a knee injury, according to Pickering. "She was very excited," Pickering said of the home run. "One of her goals was to not strike out and hit a home run. She accomplished that today." Lisa Angell went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, and five RBI for Mattituck (2-3) in a League VII/VIII crossover.
