Calhoun vs Oceanside

Oceanside 2, Calhoun 1: Ellen Derr helped her own cause with a one-out walk-off single with the bases loaded to lift No. 6 Oceanside (8-11) over No. 11 Calhoun (7-9) in the first round of the Nassau Class AA playoffs. Derr allowed one run off two hits in seven innings pitched, and plated Kristen Gallub with her winning hit in the seventh. Oceanside will play at No. 3 Mepham, Saturday at 10 a.m in a second round game.
