New Hyde Park 4, Division 3: Mary Kate O'Boyle hit a pinch-hit RBI double to score Danielle Plomitallo for the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh inning to propel No. 9 New Hyde Park (14-5) over No. 8 Division in the first round of the Class A playoffs. Division's Cheryl White hit a two-out, three-run triple to tie the score at 3 in the bottom of the sixth inning. Geena Fornataro tossed a complete game, allowing three runs with eight strikeouts. Fornataro, Amanda Turner and Jessica Vadala each drove in a run in the top of the fourth inning. Lisa Pellegrino and Nicole DeCola both went 2-for-4. New Hyde Park advances to play at top-seeded Plainedge at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
